This is designed to help volunteers get trained in the safe use of chainsaws to help clear trails, remove deadfalls, clear hazards, and stockpile firewood around the Reservation.
This course will be held March 27-28 starting 7pm Friday until 5pm on Saturday down at Lewis & Clark.
This course is for those 21 and older, upon completion the chainsaw operator is certified for 5 years.
BSA chainsaw training is a 12-hour course which will cover both classroom saw safety operations and a field cutting day.
Please bring appropriate clothes for the weather, along with waterbottles to stay hydrated. If you have chainsaws and saftey equipment, you're welcome to bring it.
There is no cost for this training, food and housing (lakeview lodge) will be provided. You're welcome to bring a tent if you'd like!
Participants will need to attend both class days to get certification, be at least 21 years old, be registered with BSA, and have current Parts A & B physical
